Rico Torres
Born to a US diplomat in Peru, Rico Torres embarked on a vibrant journey that spanned seven Latin American countries during his formative years. This diverse upbringing cultivated a rich palette from which Rico draws his unique perspectives in photography. His academic pursuit brought him to the U.S., where he pursued Broadcasting and Film at Boston University, a stepping stone into the pulsating heart of the entertainment industry in LA.
Rico’s foray into photography began at the tender age of 14, a hobby birthed from playful experiments with his father’s camera gear. What started as a pastime gradually evolved into a passionate endeavor as Rico crafted a remarkable portfolio, capturing the raw and unfiltered essence of his actor and model acquaintances in his early 20s while navigating the hectic environment of movie sets as a production assistant.
At the pivotal age of 26, fate steered him into the throes of still photography, a field Rico ventured into with raw, untamed talent but limited technical expertise. Seizing an opportunity presented by a producer friend, he embarked on a trial stint as a movie set photographer, a role that resonated with his innate passion for capturing moments through the lens.
Today, Rico stands as a titan in the Hollywood photography landscape, bearing credits for some of the most iconic movie posters known to cinema, including illustrious titles like "Desperado," “Alita: Battle Angel”, "Sin City: A Dame to Kill For," "Machete Kills," and "Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon: Sword of Destiny." His masterpiece – the portrait of Bruce Willis for "Sin City" – commands reverence amongst collectors, epitomizing the apex of photographic artistry.
With over 70 Hollywood movies to his name, Rico has immortalized legends such as Gerard Butler, Liam Neesom, Antonio Banderas, Bruce Willis, James Coburn, and Lady Gaga, with his lens narrating tales of grandeur, vulnerability, and unyielding spirit.
